Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

I don't know how this place's Yelp average is so low! Seriously, this place is the real deal as far as pizza goes in the Midwest, and it's probably the cheapest in town if you order right. For carryout, a large 1-topping comes out around $9!!! As for the pizza, the crust is really elevates this pie to amazing status. I would describe it as thin hand-tossed, much like a NY style with a little less chew to it. It's crispy in all the right places and a good ratio with the sauce and cheese. I've ordered from here at least 20-30 times, and it has rarely been over or undercooked as well. The sauce is brilliant too, just right amount of heat, seasoning, and garlic flavor. The cheese is the weakest link here, which I'm okay with since everything else is so good. For this reason, the Pizza Sticks are really below par because there is no sauce to save the cheese and the crust is just too thin. I'd recommend a simple pepperoni pizza. I cannot vouch for the delivery services as I've never ordered delivery. But I do know it's "free" delivery. "Free" meaning the pizzas in general will cost more for delivery but you don't get a surcharge, so at least you know what you are paying. Deals that can be found on their website, so that's helpful. Do yourself a favor and check this place out, even it wasn't so cheap, it's tiers above Pizza Hut and Domino's. I even prefer it to Pagliai's and Sam's and would put it up there with some NYC pizzerias!

I wouldn't know how pizza pit actually is food wise. I ordered online, and all I got was 2lbs of wings, however they refused to deliver just wings. They're website doesn't mention, nor does their menu have any indication that there are delivery restrictions upon which they will deliver. For future reference, 2lbs of wings is 20bucks, and they didn't want to deliver a 20 dollar order because "they don't deliver just appetizers" according to the gentlemen who called me on the phone. Don't order here, you probably won't get food.

We ordered Pizza Pit to our hotel room on suggestion from the front desk attendant. We ordered online and found there website very easy to navigate. They had a few specials we didnt even need a coupon for. The food arrived within the promised 45 minutes, and unlike the previous few posts... the driver had a pen! Overall our experience was a good one and I will be ordering from them again next time we are in town for Hawkeye Basketball! Go Hawks!

There are other, pricer, pizza places I prefer in Iowa City. But if you're looking for a very cheap pizza place (and don't want to eat cardboard pizza from Little Cesar's) Pizza Pit is edible and delicious and is perfect for a broke, college-student budget.

I've ordered delivery from this place off and on for the past couple years, and generally they have done a decent job, and delivered a quality pie. However, the last few pizzas I've ordered from them have arrived either exceedingly late, or cold. Tonight's pizza arrived almost a full hour later than their "estimated delivery time", and when it arrived it was both cold *and* burned. Honestly, I shouldn't have been surprised - this place has been going downhill for a while now. If I were you, I'd look elsewhere. I certainly will the next time I want pizza.

Dear Pizza Pit, Thank-you for the most Delish inferno wings!!! They are so tasty and delivered to my door step! Perfect dinner after a hard week.:)

We tried the place because the descriptions sounded good. Ordered ten buffalo wings, they looked like they were taken off pigeons. They tasted ok, but nothing special. Ordered the "big cheese" pizza. The normal crust was very thin and the cheeses weren't good as well. If you're in the mood for some decent drunk food you're good to go, otherwise don't bother.

This place has become far too expensive! I ordered a small pizza, 6 wings, and a 2 liter Pepsi and it cost me $26.00. There is no 10" pizza worth that much money. Never again!

I recently had a "new experience" at Pizza Pit. They have added Gyros and they are the best ones I have had in Iowa City.

Garbage pizza, garbage management, garbage delivery drivers. Avoid this place unless you just feel bad for failing businesses and want to give them a few pity dollars. You get what you pay for. There's a reason the prices are so low.

I went there one Wednesday night and I ordered one slice of pizza, i stood there for twenty minutes waiting for it as their staff who frankly didnt give a crap, laughed at customers, yell and complain about orders and never apologized. I stood there only for curiosity's sake and who ever owns this place needs to watch their staff. And the food sux!!!

  • Austin B.

Their delivery driver was playing on his phone and came within inches of killing me tonight. I shouldn't have to further justify a one star review, but I will also say that their pizza sucks.

Ordered pepperoni pizzas here nearly every week when I was a freshman. Came back recently (it's been years since I graduated) and much to my delight it was exactly the same as it was years ago. Hands down, my favorite place for pizza in Iowa City.

We head over to Iowa City and tailgate in our RV the nights before Hawkeye games. For the last two Fridays we ordered Pizza Pit both times and couldn't be more pleased. Even on busy Friday nights our food was at the parking lot where we tailgate within 30 minutes and the food is always hot and fresh.

Great pizza. Friendly staff. I've been getting delivery for years and have never been let down. Always a winner with me.

In the time that's passed since Ioved away from Iowa City, the quality has gone way done. The pit stix were barely cheesey and not at all garlicky (as they used to be). The half canadian bacon was more like 1/3, and the food just wasn't as piping hot as it should have been. Most disappointed.

Pizza Pit pizza is not that great. I ordered delivery from here quite a bit during my time in the Mayflower. Sauce is a "little" spicey which sets it apart from the other pizza places in town. But that doesn't mean it tastes good. If you are looking for pizza, try another option in Iowa City...then thank me later

It might be my lack of a refined pizza palate or something, but I don't think that the pizza from here is all that bad. I actually think it's quite good. The regular crust is really crispy and delicious. The calzones are really good. The sauce is tasty. And, they are fast. It's just as good as pagliai's and considerably cheaper (and they deliver). They also have pit sticks, which are excellent. An all-round solid pizza joint in my book.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
